Welcome to Term 2!

Congratulations to all SJCA students on making it through finals!

Just a few reminders as we begin Term 2:

Seniors-
Please pay attention to each school's application deadline, as many are approaching in the coming weeks. Also, please review your application carefully before submission (either online or paper).  Ask yourself these questions:
  • Did I sign my application?
  • Do I need to send a check for the application fee?
  • Does this school require an essay or personal statement?
  • Do I need to send letters of recommendation?
  • Is there a form that I need my Guidance Counselor to fill out and send with my transcripts?
  • Do I need to have ACT/SAT send out my scores?
Make sure that you gather ALL of the materials that you wish to have sent with your application, including the address of the college or university you are applying to, and turn it into Mrs. Shuler.  We want the admissions process to be smooth for you, and ensuring that your application is complete can reduce the likelihood of pieces of your application being misplaced which may delay that important decision!

While your ACT and/or SAT scores are on your transcript, look closely at each school’s policy regarding test score submission.  Some schools, including those in the UW system, require that your test scores be sent directly from the testing agency.

ALSO, please notify your counselors when you are admitted to schools and when you receive scholarships. We want to hear about your accomplishments!!
Juniors-

As you begin to register and take the ACT, make sure to enter our school’s code, 501007, in the high school section of the test.   ACT will then automatically send us a sticker with your score, which we will place on your permanent record.  We use this record to make copies of their transcript for colleges, new jobs, etc.

Keep up the great work, everyone!
