UW-Parkside classes help students best ACT test
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is prepared to help local high school students prepare for the American College Testing (ACT) exam. The university's Precollege Program offers classes in February and March 2012 specifically covering each test subject. Sessions are available Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. A separate pre-test session is part of the package.
Classes begin Feb. 25/26 with sessions on English. They continue with a March 3/4 session on reading and a March 10/11 science reasoning class. The sessions conclude March 17/18 with math. During classes, instructors offer test taking tips and strategies to help each student do their very best on "The Test."
A practice ACT test is held Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. with reviews of the results Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1. The 2012 spring ACT Test is April 9, 2011.
UW-Parkside ACT prep classes can benefit first-time test takers or those retaking it to improve their scores. Saturday sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon; Sunday classes are from 1 to 4 p.m.
Cost of the ACT classes is $140 which covers all four classes, the pretest, and review. Advanced registration is encouraged; onsite registration is available.
